Sillyconductor
— Live performance
Sunday, 5 Oct. 7 PM – Csiky Gergely Hungarian Theatre

Sillyconductor presents a special live edition of his ORCHIS LP, released just a couple of months ago. The project grew out of an ongoing bio-research collaboration with leading orchidologist and microbiologist Nora de Angelli, centered on 17 species of Romanian wild orchids monitored through their electrical activity in their natural habitats.
The performance will be accompanied by visuals from longtime collaborator and video guru Dreamrec.
Expect rabbits. Expect pearls.
Sillyconductor is one of the pseudonyms of Cătălin Matei, a Romanian sound designer from Bucharest.
His main concern is sound and its relationship with science or mathematics, building interactive instruments or installations that explore and at the same time sound, technology and the environment. In recent years his attention has focused on bio-linguistic installations and sonification of inaudible phenomena, from archaeological sites to jars of algae.
