Ethno-Noise is a fresh take on obscure Balkan music, with echoes of the Yugoslav punk and industrial scenes of the 1980s and contemporary experimental projects in Belgrade. However, Lenhart's passion for industrial sound plays a key role, bringing together noise, improvised violin and folk in a magical encounter, like Beauty and the Beast, all on audio cassettes.
Vladimir Lenhart (Lenhart Tapes) is a tape manipulator known especially for his striking and unforgettable performances. Walkmans are his musical instruments, and he mixes live selections from his cassette collection over rhythmic loops. He has been an avid collector of audio cassettes for a long time. His collection includes field recordings, rare folk music, propaganda material, and albums from various musical genres. Before venturing into his solo project, he played music in various underground bands in Serbia. And then, in October 2010, Lenhart Tapes was born. His album "Duets" was released on vinyl in 2021, on Pop Depresija and Novo Doba.
